Marine Transportation Services
CTC and C&C provides full-service contract, third-party and tramp marine transportation services in our service area which includes the entire length of the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, PA to Cairo, IL and the Allegheny, Monongahela, Kanawha, Big Sandy and the Lower Tennessee Rivers.
CTC and C&C transports an estimated 20 million tons of various commodities annually in our barges and for tramp barge customers. The majority of our shipments are coal. However, we transport limestone, salt, cement, aggregates, steel products, bulk liquids and various other bulk commodities for our customers.
CTC and C&C operates 37 towboats ranging in size from 200HP to 5,000HP and a 500 barge fleet, comprised of 30 standards barges (175’x26’x11’), 170 stumbo barges (195’x26’x11’), 290 jumbo open hopper barges (195’x35’x12’/13’) and 10 jumbo covered hopper barges (195’x35’x13’). Our growing fleet of jumbo hopper barges has an average age of 10 years.
CTC and C&C have employed the BargeOps electronic fleet and terminal management software utilizing state of the art via internet access technology.
